The report starts from an uncomfortable reality: most warehouses and industrial plants in Spain cannot answer with certainty three basic questions about the assets their operation uses every day. Tools that disappear without an owner, time lost searching for equipment at the start of each shift, lack of traceability over who uses what asset, and delays caused by devices that aren't where they should be or don't work when needed.
These four problems don't appear in management dashboards because standard systems (ERP, WMS, CMMS) are not designed to capture them. They get booked as "consumables", "maintenance" or "purchases", and they're never consolidated for what they really are: a hidden cost that erodes operating margin year after year.
The report introduces a four-level maturity model for physical asset management that allows any Operations Director to self-position their organisation in under fifteen minutes, identify the dominant problem in their case, and understand what kind of response is defensible to move up a level.
